People decide to enter counseling for a variety of different reasons- depressed mood or anxiety, relationship concerns, family conflict, grief and loss, trauma, behavioral difficulties, self-defeating behaviors, just to name a few. The positive thing is that if you are reading this, you have already taken the first step in getting help for yourself and/or your family, and starting the road to a more fulfilling life.
I have been licensed as a mental health counselor for the past 15 years, specializing in individual and family therapy. As a parent myself, I well understand the trials and tribulations of raising children in today's society. Along with this, I also have experience as a special education teacher, which has allowed me to understand many of the difficulties that children and adolescents experience during their school years. I am trained in TF-CBT and play therapy. I am also trained in EMDR, a research based therapy that can be very helpful in working through trauma.

I am available by appointment from 9am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. My office is located in the West Ashley area of Charleston.
